How much does the Edinburgh City Pass cost?+

The Edinburgh City Pass is available for adults, children aged 5 to 15, and concessions. The live price for your date is shown in the booking widget on the Prices page.

Is there a child price?+

Yes. Children aged 5 to 15 pay a reduced rate. Travellers aged 16 and over book the adult rate. Children under 5 generally do not need a ticket of their own.

What is the concession rate?+

In addition to adult and child rates, the booking channel offers a concession rate. The eligibility conditions are shown during ticket selection in the booking widget. See all rates on the Prices page.

How do I pay?+

You book online and pay securely in the booking widget. The price shown is the total per person - no additional fees apply.

Redemption & Use

How do I get my ticket after purchase?+

You will receive a voucher by email. Present it at the starting point at Waterloo Place. The Edinburgh Bus Tour staff will issue your Royal Edinburgh Ticket and reserve your time slot for Edinburgh Castle. You can then visit Holyroodhouse and the Royal Yacht Britannia with the same ticket at your own pace.

Where do I redeem my voucher?+

At the starting point at Waterloo Place in the city centre. There you exchange your voucher for the Royal Edinburgh Ticket and can board the hop-on/hop-off bus straight away.

Do I need to book a time slot for Edinburgh Castle in advance?+

Your time slot for Edinburgh Castle is reserved when you redeem your voucher at Waterloo Place. Your entry is guaranteed without needing to book a slot separately beforehand.

Do I need a smartphone or a printout?+

You just need to show the voucher at the starting point - either digitally on your phone or as a printout. The actual ticket is issued to you on the spot.

Validity

How long is the pass valid?+

The pass covers the included attraction admissions plus the hop-on/hop-off bus for 48 hours. Edinburgh Castle, Holyroodhouse and the Royal Yacht Britannia are all visited with the same Royal Edinburgh Ticket. Please refer to your voucher for the exact terms.

Do I have to visit all attractions on the same day?+

No. Once you have used your Castle time slot, you can visit Holyroodhouse and the Royal Yacht Britannia with the same ticket at your own pace. Bear in mind the bus ticket validity period and the opening hours of each venue.

What is included in the Edinburgh City Pass?+

The Edinburgh City Pass combines guaranteed entry to Edinburgh Castle, the Palace of Holyroodhouse and the Royal Yacht Britannia, plus access to the hop-on/hop-off bus tours (Edinburgh Tour, Regal Tour, City Sightseeing). For a full overview see the Attractions page.

Is the hop-on/hop-off bus included?+

Yes. You can use all three routes - Edinburgh Tour, Regal Tour and City Sightseeing - to travel conveniently between the sights. The bus is part of the Royal Edinburgh Ticket.

What happens if Holyroodhouse is closed?+

If the Palace of Holyroodhouse is closed due to a royal visit, you will receive entry to the King's Gallery instead. Please note that the King's Gallery is closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Where is the Royal Yacht Britannia?+

The Royal Yacht Britannia is berthed in the port of Leith, a short distance from the city centre. With your included ticket you can board and explore the original state rooms at your own pace.

Cancellation

Can I cancel my voucher?+

According to the booking channel, this ticket is non-refundable. Please check your date and the number of travellers carefully before purchasing. The cancellation terms on your voucher are binding.

Can I change the date?+

As the ticket is non-refundable, please check your travel date carefully before buying. Whether a date change is possible depends on the conditions stated on your voucher.
