Edinburgh City Pass Prices
The Edinburgh City Pass bundles Edinburgh Castle, Palace of Holyroodhouse, Royal Yacht Britannia and the hop-on hop-off bus tours into a single ticket - valid for 48 hours from your first bus ride. Three tariffs are available with the same package of benefits, graduated by age: adult, child and concession.
| Tariff | Age | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Adult | 16-60 years | £ 81 |
| Child | 5-15 years | £ 43 |
| Concession | subject to conditions | £ 76 |
As of 25 June 2026, prices from the official booking partner. Children under 5 generally do not need their own ticket. The binding price is always the one shown in the booking window.
What is included in the price
Regardless of the tariff chosen, the pass covers:
- Guaranteed entry to Edinburgh Castle, Palace of Holyroodhouse and Royal Yacht Britannia - your time slot for the Castle is reserved when you redeem.
- Hop-on hop-off bus tours on three routes (Edinburgh Tour, Regal Tour, City Sightseeing) to travel between the attractions.
- 48 hours validity from your first bus ride, redeemed at the starting point Waterloo Place.
If the Palace of Holyroodhouse is closed due to royal visits, you receive entry to the King's Gallery instead. The full list of included attractions is on the Attractions page.
Which tariff is worth it?
The pass earns its value through the included admissions: Edinburgh Castle, Palace of Holyroodhouse and Royal Yacht Britannia bought separately quickly add up to a sum that matches the adult tariff of £ 81 - with the hop-on hop-off bus tours over 48 hours coming on top at virtually no extra cost. If you plan to visit all three royal attractions anyway, the pass covers your sightseeing in a single purchase.
For families the child tariff at £ 43 is particularly good value: it is roughly half the adult price with the same full package of benefits. If you are booking for several people, check before purchasing who qualifies for the concession tariff (£ 76) - the conditions are shown in the booking window. For the attractions that are especially worthwhile, see the Attractions page.
You book online and receive your voucher instantly by email. Please note: according to the booking channel, this ticket is non-refundable - check your date and number of visitors carefully before completing your purchase.
